Kalpvan Township
Kalpvan is a premium integrated township development located in Rajkot, Gujarat, spanning over 18 acres. The master plan includes residential communities, commercial spaces, retail zones, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, sports infrastructure, and entertainment areas. To support its sustainable development goals, the township implemented an intelligent grey water treatment system.
The Challenge
Large-scale mixed-use developments generate substantial quantities of grey water from residential, commercial, and public utility activities.
Sustainable Community Planning
The project required a treatment solution closely aligned with green building standards and sustainable township planning objectives.
Variable Wastewater Characteristics
Grey water coming from diverse residential and commercial sources demanded a treatment process capable of handling fluctuating pollutant loads while maintaining stable performance.
Environmental Compliance
The treated water needed to consistently meet local discharge standards to ensure minimal impact on the municipal drain system.
Project Objectives
Effective Grey Water Treatment
Providing robust treatment to reduce biological and chemical pollution loads reliably.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensuring treated effluent consistently meets safety limits for discharge or reuse applications.
Green Township Focus
Supporting sustainable estate development aligned with Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) guidelines.

Engineering Solution
Shubham designed a compact, multi-stage treatment process incorporating screening, settling, chemical treatment, clarification, disinfection, and final filtration.
Primary & Equalization
Components: Screening, Oil & Grease Removal, Septic Tank, Collection Tank
Purpose: Remove coarse solids and grease, buffer flow rates, and homogenize incoming grey water quality.
Chemical & Settling
Components: Coagulant Dosing, Tube Settler, Chlorine Contact Tank
Purpose: Destabilize colloidal particles chemically, clarify through sedimentation, and disinfect pathogen activity.
Advanced Filtration
Components: Multi-Media Filtration Systems, Safe Discharge
Purpose: Perform final physical filtration to reduce TSS to compliance levels prior to safe drainage.
Results & Performance
| Parameter | Inlet Value | Outlet Value |
| pH | 8.5 | 6.9 |
| BOD | 65 mg/L | 21 mg/L |
| COD | 174 mg/L | 50 mg/L |
| TSS | 155 mg/L | 9 mg/L |
